I'll wait

Patience is something that I'm learning I lack, but generally need in this whole moving process.  A lot of people had asked what's going on with our transition to Atlanta and well, I wish I had more to give you.  Last Friday, we closed on the house here in Delaware.  As of midnight, we were officially renters of our home.  Super exciting news in this economy is that we sold our house in less than 60 days and were able to get 98% of our asking price for the house.  That was a huge relief.

The not so exciting news is that we have been through the ringer with Atlanta houses.  We've put seven (SEVEN PEOPLE) offers in on houses and all have fallen through for reasons that were out of our control.  Literally one seller took $15,000 less than we were offering so that she could close 17 days sooner. It's to the point where our realtors actually call and say "we are so sorry that this is happening to you again and again".  Awesomesauce!

I know that I need to be patient, but this saying couldn't be more true!
We find things we like.  We just find things that other people like faster.

We have an offer in on a house right now and have been countering with a bank for over a week.  They aren't so quick to respond - they own it and obviously aren't that concerned with getting rid of it.  I don't know how long I have it in me before I walk away and start the process of searching again.  I don't know how much energy I have left in me to continue this process though. We have until the end of February to rent our house in Ohio.  Then we have to move.

We really want this house.  And I'll continue to wait...

Don't want to rush into a decision like this... so patience is BEST :)

I think you have just enough time to get this to work out for you guys.

Best wishes to you guys for the right phone call!!!

good things come to those who wait! you are the boss in this matter!

frustrating for sure.
Just move to Maine, there are so many houses available you won't have to be patient :) then we can play!!!

Remember, there is a REASON some of these things are falling thru--
a little cliche, but
"maybe the reason why all the doors are closed-so you could open one that leads you to the perfect road"

First the blog changes look great!

Hang tough, sistah. Whether this is helpful or not, the fact of the matter is that you don't have a choice but to see this through. What's the alternative? You guys sit on the street? Nope. Buckle down and keep pushing through --- all of this WILL eventually work out, it just can suck along the way.

This will all get figured out. It really will.

xo.

Um, WHAT housing crisis? Seems Atlanta has quite the HOT realty market for someone to take $17K less!

Ugh, how frustrating! maybe it's just a case of everything happening for a reason, but I hope that reason comes soon for you!

I really thought the current buyer's market would work to your advantage. Never thought you'd fight this hard to BUY a house (sell yes, but not buy). Love the new blog look. Hope things settle out soon or that you can find a nice place to rent in the meantime. Hang in there. Oh - did I miss a soup recipe?

It's hard to have patience! But, I always think that the Lord has something planned that is better for me, so I just have to wait and trust. I'm sure you guys will find the perfect place...it'll happen!!! At least you're not stressed out about selling your house. That's just sweet!

Good luck!

That's tough....the really tough part should have been the sale so at least that went well. Hope things work out and soon!

How frustrating! Everything happens for a reason. Hard to hear now, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

Thanks for the update, I've been thinking about you two and wondering how the move was going.

Crazy. Everyone keeps saying it is a buyer's market. Maybe it is a "patient" buyer's market. UGH!

Prayers for something to happen sooner than later. It's frustrating though. My husband is a real estate agent...can all be very frustrating. Glad you were able to sell your places...thats the tough part. You will find something perfect.

When was the last time I was here? Love the new header.

As for the house.....nothing to be said. I'd be batsh*t crazy by now with 7 offers and I would throw in the towel and just rent but that is me and I have the patience of a 2 year old hungry for that warm milk.
