Total random thoughts...

First off, thank you all for your comments about the running skirt issue. Glad to know that I'm not the only one with some real girl legs! Running Skirts is going to let me try one of their skirts and review it for everyone. Hoping that some other companies ( maybe) come to me asking me to review theirs as well so that I get a good comparison. :)

Second - so does anyone else think that October should have been names National I Didn't Train Much month? I mean wow... I looked at my training log. Now granted, I did a marathon and then enjoyed some down time and then got sick, but it's kind of pathetic. Okay, really pathetic. Here are the totals:

Swim - 0 meters. Yep you read that right.
Bike - 84.5 miles. Again, wow
Run - 63.8 miles (of which 26.2 was run in one day...)
Cross training - 4 hours (this is usually the elliptical at the gym movie theater)
Kickboxing - 3 hours

Oh well. I feel better and I'm back on course. I swam today for the first time since September and did actually remember how to swim so that was good. It was slow. And my lungs were burning, but I blame that on the kickboxing I did for an hour prior to the pool, and the cold I'm still getting over. Excuses, excuses.

Kickboxing is awesome! I'm trying to go 3 times a week. It's generally been only twice though. I literally get my butt handed to me on a silver platter every time I put those gloves on (and walk out wondering if I should be ashamed of my ability to work out at that level). Tons of bag hitting, but also squats, lunges, push ups, sit ups, weights, resistant bands, etc. Every class is different. Today we ended with 3 minutes of planks - 3 straight minutes. Yeah, I didn't make it through that. :)

Beach 2 Battleship half is in a week and a half. I'm super excited, but looking at my October numbers scares the poop out of me in terms of readiness. Maybe I'll be well rested and just have a kick ass race. Or I'll die. We'll see...

I received my two giveaway winnings in the mail this week. I'll post pictures soon. LOVE THEM! :)

I'm dubbing October, "No Swim October" I didn't get in the pool either! It seems like so many people were hitting the cross training or taking a little break in October! You're in good company.

Yep, I agree with Diana call it "No Swim October" because my number was the same as your number!

I hope you have fun at your race!

I haven't swam since August 14th. Don't miss it either!! You'll do fine at B2B, you have more than enough aerobic base and now you're "rested"!

Good name for Oct - I took 3/4 of the month off and when I finally got back in... it was painful, both physically and mentally!

I think you'll be fine for B2B. Rest is good, and you've done enough to maintain your fitness.

I emailed my coach to see if the Rev3 Cedar Point half will work with the other races I wanted to do... it would be really cool to meet up there!

Ugh...I totally agree with about October being "National I didn't Train Much Month!" Like you, I ran a marathon, but besides that I didn't do much of anything else!
I finally am getting back into the pool and went on an hr. ride yesterday, and it felt awesome! But, with the colder weather coming, it will hard to stay motivated!
Good luck with B2B! I'm sure you will do great! :)

Love the renaming of October idea. Glad I'm not the only one!

Right there with ya sister...as you know! I think I've trained more this week than I did all of October and we're only on the 3rd day. Woah. That's probably why my ass bones and arms hurt after 20 minutes on the trainer today huh?

yay for getting to try out the running skirt! You'll love it. : )

This post makes me feel better... no swims in Oct for me either! :) Very cool about the skirt, hope it's a winner for you. And excited to hear about B2B. Hoping to do that one (half) next year!

Yes, I want to hang out, I hope I can meet you and hubby before Rev3, maybe we can do a Outdoor Pursuits tour, or just go ride together, if you two speedies will slow down enough for me to stay on a wheel. Tri_diesel@yahoo.com
